Goldie is a 3 year old Shepherd mix looking for a special forever home. She weighs 32 lbs fully grown. Not too big and not too little..perfect size! Goldie came to us from another rescue who originally rescued her from the county shelter with puppies. She came to us after the rescue had their dogs living outside in the summer. When we first met Goldie she was sitting terrified with her own feces caked to her. We aren't sure of Goldie's history, but it obviously wasn’t great. Based on her cautious behavior we wouldn’t want to talk about it even if we knew. It's possible that Goldie was abused or completely neglected until she came to AZSDR. Goldie has been in a foster home since she came to us, where we slowly learned about this sweet but submissive girl. Goldie is a very shy, submissive, but loving girl. Goldie's untrusting behavior breaks our hearts. She is eager and will follow you around the house but prefers to be invisible. She will find a comfy spot near you just so she’s not alone. Goldie needs a patient family that will give her the time she needs to come around. Unfortunately, we don't think she will ever be the normal dog that comes running up on the couch next to you, or give you a big wet sloppy kiss when you least expect it. However, Goldie is very sweet once she knows you, yet keeps a little distance. She is not aggressive in any way. She is excellent with other dogs of any size, fully house broken with or without a dog door, and is so forgiving. Goldie loves food and loves other dogs.. this is the key to getting her socialized with new people :) She is even good with cats! Goldie's perfect home would be with a family (no young kids) that is really wanting to RESCUE a dog. A home with another dog(s) that would like her and play with her and snuggle with her. A home with a dog door and a secure yard. A home with patient hands and love and treats! She travels in the car in a kennel (very nervous!), and is not leash trained, she prefers to stay home :P This special girl deserves a special home! Goldie is spayed, up to date on vaccines, chipped, licensed, vet checked, comes with 30 days of free pet insurance, and comes with a free vet visit. Her adoption fee is $180. To meet her, contact her foster mom Alicia at FosterVarrone@gmail.com. For any questions, feel free to give us a call 602-944-2440
