Happy is a 4.5 year old border terrier mix (weighs in at 50lbs) who recently came to the rescue when his previous family was no longer able to care for him. He was found roaming the streets and we were told by numerous people that his owner went to jail. Happy is a happy, friendly, and mellow guy. He loves to just lounge around the house, venture outside, loves walks, rides great in the car, and also loves his people. He is great with kids. He is a smart boy, and will even sit pretty for treats! Happy has been around other dogs his size and smaller, but it is recommended him to live with a smaller dog or would be ok as the only dog. Happy is not fond of other bigger dogs lately, though he has lived with other dogs his size previously. A meet and greet with any current dogs in the home is required, and also a home check to make sure it is a good fit in the home as well. He is fully housebroken, with or without a dog door. He is great on the leash. He is a very loyal boy that attaches quickly. We think his previous life wasn't very consistent or normal and he longs for that consistency and to have him person/family. Happy's ideal home would be a home with people who aren't gone more then 8 hours a day. He does need a 6ft brick wall fenced secure yard (no chain link). He does not like to be kenneled, but he is a well behaved boy so kenneling isn't needed. He would do well in an active or a quiet home. He is neutered, up to date on shots, microchipped, licensed and vet checked. His adoption fee is $40. His adoption includes a free vet visit and 30 days of free pet insurance.
