Jack Farris is a handsome 6 year old Shih Tzu/Lhasa Apso mix looking for his forever home. Jack Farris is a silly boy that needs a very patient and understand home ready to learn his quirks and work with him. Jack Farris needs a mature, adult only home and cannot be around anyone under the age of 18 years old. He would do best in a calm household with limited to no visitors. He is very leery of new people at first and will need to be put away when guest come over. Jack Farris is not a fan of his kennel and does not like being put into it. He would love to just free roam in his forever home and only be kenneled when necessary. Jack Farris is very food/treat motivated which helps when getting to know each other and teaching him new things. However, he is extremely overweight and needs his forever home to work hard with him and get him down 7-10 pounds. He is good on leash and enjoys going for walks. He will need a home with his own securely fenced in yard and no shared walls with neighbors as he likes to talk. Jack Farris will need additional work on housebreaking training but does well with consistency. He is a hypoallergenic, non shedding breed and will need regular grooming every 6-8 weeks. However, he will need to be sedated for his grooming by your veterinarian. He is a sweet boy that just needs the right home to help him learn what he can and cannot get away with. To meet Jack Farris, please bring everyone in the home, including any other dogs to our shelter location, 1102 W. Hatcher Rd. Phoenix, AZ 85021 Open Tuesday-Sunday from 11am-6pm.
