Akela is a 2 1/2 year old German Pinscher mix who is looking for a very gentle, patient and loving forever home. Akela is a very shy and timid gal who will need a patient and adoring family who will love her endlessly and give her the time she needs to warm up and come around. Akela is sweet and playful with other dogs, so she will need a home with a playful and confident canine companion. Akela was saved off the streets after being humanely trapped by HARTT along with her 2 brothers who were all too fearful to allow humans to help them. She will need time to adjust and a very securely fenced yard to ensure that she is safe from the streets. Akela will need lots of patience and will need training, including house training in her forever home. She weighs in at 13 pounds full grown. She is spayed, up to date on vaccines, vet checked, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $220, and comes with a complimentary vet visit. To meet her, come to our shelter location at 1102 W Hatcher Road in Phoenix 85021, open Tuesday to Sunday 11am to 6pm. --Covid update: To adhere to CDC guidelines, we are open for adoptions only at a max capacity of 15 people in the building at a time.
