Lay Z Boy is a 1.5yr old Chihuahua mix looking for his new forever home. He came to us after being rescued by Arizona Humane Society from a hoarding situation. He weighs in at 20.4lbs and is full grown. This sweet boy can be shy when meeting new people, but does warm up quickly. He LOVES belly rubs, does well with other dogs his size, and knows how to go in and out the dog door. Due to him coming from a bad situation, we don't have much history or mannerisms about him. He may need patience with house training and leash training, and may need time to learn how to be a real dog that is loved and spoiled. We feel ideally he would do best in a home with a secure yard, have another canine companion or 2, and be a semi-active to quiet household that doesn't have a lot of visitors. Please bring the whole family, 2 legged and 4, to meet with Lay Z Boy to ensure it is a good fit :) We are sure with a little bit of patience and an adjustment period he will be a lucky addition! He is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and vet checked. His adoption fee is $300 and comes with a complimentary vet visit. To potentially adopt him come to our shelter location at 1102 W Hatcher Road in Phoenix 85021, open Tuesday to Sunday 11am to 6pm. --Covid update: To adhere to CDC guidelines, we are open for adoptions only at a max capacity of 10 people in the building at a time.
