Daffodil is an extra special young lady looking for an extra special home. Daffodil is sweet but shy and needs a patient family that will allow her to adjust and give her time to do that on her own. Daffodil and her foster mom have been working alongside a trainer to pinpoint how we can help her thrive. Going over her history the trainer feels that Daffodil missed out on socialization between 8-12 weeks old and will likely never be an extra cuddly type of dog. She said it would be best not to force love on her as holding her will just put her into fight or flight mode and it will just make her more anxious than less over time. Daffodil is definitely a flight mode girl luckily, no biting, although she scratches when she launches away from you. She comes when called for "snackie time" and will take treats from hands when the other dogs are around. She will benefit from the leadership of another dog and loves to run with friends, so she is seeking a home with a canine companion. Her foster has been telling her "touch" and petting her as much as she'll allow while giving the treat. Food motivation is a great way to the heart of a stubborn or fearful dog.
