Pequena is a special little lady who is one of a group of dogs who recently came to us in search of a bright new beginning as a spoiled part of their families' lives. Pequena has been one of too many dogs, living outside most of her life. Due to her prior living situation, she is very social with other dogs and wildly timid of new people. Pequena is a super shy gal who is going to need a patient family full of gentle love, where she can be allowed to come around on her own time. Pequena has a cloudy eye that does not see any longer due to end stage glaucoma, but she is in no discomfort and her other eye is great, so she doesn't let it slow her down a bit! Pequena is looking for a home with another dog as she has never been alone and thrives on canine companionship. We are hopeful with time that Pequena will learn to trust and be a "normal dog" in her new home, but she may always be closer to the dogs she shares her home with than her people. She would be the perfect match for someone who is looking for a new best friend for their pooch. Pequena is quiet and kennel trained but will need time to learn the routine in her new home and will need extra patience with training as she adjusts to living the life of a spoiled pooch who is part of the family. Pequena has previously done well with children, so dog savvy older children who can respect her boundaries may be a good fit. To meet her, come to our location with the whole family and any dogs that live in the home, to ensure it is a good fit.
