Madeline is an absolute doll and lovebug.
Who knows what her past life may have been like, but it obviously wasn't great care and luxury.
She has adapted amazingly to only having three legs and is absolutely "handicapable!" Madeline loves her crate and snores happily in there all night long.
She loves going for stroller walks, and sometimes can be found napping in her stroller in the yard, that's how much she likes it.
Madeline has not met a stranger she hasn't loved and wanted to sit on their lap.
She adores petting and affection.
She is now housetrained in her foster home, but set her up for success by frequent trips outside til she gets the hang of the right place to "go." She is an eager eater and gobbles her food with gusto.
She always is on the lookout for treats, too.
She has had to learn that she can't push her way into the other dogs bowls and is doing quite well with the cue "wait."
Madeline is living with other dogs, large and small, and truth be told, she could live with or without another dog.
As long as she has a human to shower her with petting and love, she's a happy girl.
She can be kind of a "bull in a china shop" with delicate small dogs, so any dog she lives with should be sturdy and confident.
She does get carsick, but short rides aren't a problem.
The foster has not seen her play with any toys, but she sure enjoys chew bones.
Madeline is great for nail trims, daily face wiping, and baths.
She also will need good quality food; salmon is the best protein for her.
Beef, chicken and lamb make her itchy and sometimes give her red spots.
She is a fabulous loving companion, and just wants to be your sidekick, without being needy.
She would probably also do fantastic with children because of her outgoing and friendly nature, nothing seems to bother this little fireplug.
