Dominic Destiny, Just a quick update on how Dominic (now Scout) is doing. Besides a couple of minor pee accidents, he’s been doing great. Our other dogs taught him the dog door on day 2 and he’s been coming and going as he pleases. He’s also been doing a little sun tanning in the grass. He has gotten along just fine with his sisters. We’ve taught him to sit and are working on leash training and “shake.” He has a new favorite toy. It’s a ball on a small section of rope. He loves watermelon and carrots, like his sisters and goes absolutely insane when it’s time for his nightly walk. He sleeps on our bed near our feet, most of the time he’s burrowed halfway into the comforter. He’s quite a character and a joy to have as part of our family. Thanks again for facilitating the adoption. We sent along a few pictures of Scout in his new natural habitat. Also, my son and I do professional photography on the side. If you ever have a need for volunteer photo services, please do not hesitate to ask. The Kathrins Family
Domino Good morning! I wanted to let you know how things are going with Domino. Fantastic! We love him beyond words already. It’s funny. As a mom of a 2.5 and 5 year old, you want to find the perfect dog for them. Last night, at 8pm, after my daughter ran him around the yard for an hour and a half, he was looking at me like “Please let me in the house so I can sleep.” That was when it hit me that we were the perfect family for him. I imagine som eone without kids may have found themselves overwhelmed by his energy and he might have become destructive if he wasn’t being played with as much. They might have seen him as difficult whereas we see him as absolutely perfect. My husband and I are so thankful that we were able to see him first. This really feels like a match made in heaven. I took tons of pictures and videos already and put them in an album for you to see how his first day and night went with us. My sister and brother-in-law in NY volunteer at a shelter and work a lot with dogs. When I was sending them the pictures and videos yesterday, they were so impressed with him. They gave me some pointers with regards to training to keep him as he is now. I give little descriptions throughout the album. If viewing on your phone, you may need to turn your phone to its side to see the captions or click “more”. I just want to let you know that we are meeting with our landscaper early next week to remove the lantana and oleanders and replace them with dog friendly plants. For now, we are watching him like a hawk in our yard, although he is too busy playing with my kids to notice the plants. As I wrap up my email, I want to tell you that he slept 8:30pm to 6:30am with no accidents and not a peep out of him. He is literally a dream and certainly a product of a great foster family! You gave him such an amazing start, which made our lives so easy. He has had a couple of pee pee accidents, but that is to be expected in a new space. Anyways, I hope you enjoy them all. Thank you so much for everything! Thank you for all that you do! Please stay healthy and safe! Thank you,
Domino We love him so much! Can’t wait for millions more moments like this. My kids are wearing him out! He is perfection. Seriously! Couldn’t ask for a better pup.
Dallas Hello! I wanted to respond and give you guys an update on Dallas & Charlie. (Charlotte -previously known as Rosa)
First, I wanted to say thank you so much on behalf of both me and my husband Joshua! The whole experience at your facility, meeting the dogs and adopting them was very pleasant and super easy!
Charlie and Dallas have transitioned into our home perfectly. We have already established a routine for feeding, snacks, walking and playtimes. Both seem to have little or no social issues. Dallas is a king among dogs when it comes to being house broken! Always holds it and asks to be taken out. Charlie on the other hand is being... Shall we say... Stubborn? Lol She needs to be watched closer than Dallas when it comes to this issue, but we are using puppy pads and multiple walks to work with her on that.
They have both met a couple of the other dogs in our gated community and as long as introductions are slow, measured and governed closely they seem to do just fine.
While Dallas needs minimal reminding to not chase the kitties in our community... Charlie requires a more steady hand on the lead and some redirection. Again... She'll get it in time. ï¸
They love their Uncle Tim (our roommate) and have been enjoying getting pampered with toys treats and plenty of love all day long between the three of us.
In short... We couldn't be happier with our new fur babies and we are delighted to have aquired them from your rescue.
Attached are pictures we've taken these first few days.
Enjoy! And thanks again!

Daysy The fur babies are wonderful and a blessing. They both have kennel cough but we took them to the vet on Monday and they both have cough medicine. They also got fluids and breathing treatments while they were at the vet. :-) We've been telling everyone about AZ Small Dog Rescue and how great you guys are.
Kevin (Junior Lion) and Lucy (Daysy) still are finicky about eating and I've tried every kind of food and every way to feed them. They only want this one kind of treat, lol. I'm sure after they adjust a little more and feel better they'll be eating with no trouble.
They adjusted to our schedule really well and are good about going to the bathroom when we take them out. Kevin does not like his picture taken, lol. Attached are some photos: their Christmas outfits, Lucy loves being petted by my husband while he watches tv, the babies are always in the same bed.
