Franklin

Thanks for reaching out to see how we are all adjusting. He was barely at your shelter long enough to get into your system.  I think 4 hours between the time you posted on facebook and edited it to say he was adopted. Franklin is great! He was pretty much bonded with me before we even left your shelter and stuck close to my side for about 4 days. (We are a retired couple.)  Franklin was supposed to have problems with men but because my quiet, gentle giant of a husband was the one that fed him, walked him, played fetch and handed out the treats, Franklin now thinks he's the greatest guy ever!  Our other dog is very happy to have a friend. We have a few small issues that we will work on over time. Now that he feels more secure, he's starting to be a little pushy and demanding. Where did that scared guy go? LOL For instance, he started getting a little grabby with food but  is learning now to sit politely when waiting for his treat or dinner so he's smart and a quick learner.  I think he's a little perplexed to discover he isn't the boss of the entire household as I suspect he used to be. LOL But he's adapting well. We have two cats. The big cat just smacks him in the face if he gets too pushy and Franklin is learning respect. Unfortunately our other cat runs and so of course Frank chases. Not to hurt but just for fun. I've been keeping him on a leash when she wants to leave the safely of her room and walk through the house. He doesn't quite get it yet that she is off limits but we will figure it out. We love him and are very pleased with your organization.  We will probably be looking to you for another dog in the future.

Froman

Dear AZ Small Dog Adoption Agency:

About a week ago I searched your website and sent a few emails looking for a small dog rescue that would be a good fit for my parents who are in their 70's. Last Sunday my parents went to Pet Smart and had the chance to look at many of your dogs, but came home with Froman, who I had my eye on and asked many questions about him earlier in the week.

I wanted to let you know that I could not have picked a better dog for my parents. He is well behaved, loves to cuddle and give kisses all the time, he hardly ever barks and loves to play. My parents bought him all the essentials that he needed and have thoroughly enjoyed every minute with him. I must say he is quite spoiled as his kennel looks great with his matching bed and blanket. My parents take him on two walks a day, he loves to fetch and play with his toys, he cuddles with them all the time when they are reading and he follows my mom everywhere. Seriously, what a perfect companion for my parents to have during their Golden Years.

Thank you so much for giving Froman such a great home until my parents could give him his FOREVER HOME!!!

They LOVE him!!!!
Julie
I attached a picture of Froman laying on my mom's legs as she reads a book.

Froman is doing so well.  He sleeps in his crate all night.  Wants to be beside us all the time.  He does his business outside with no accidents.  How lucky we are to have adopted him.  He is such a good boy. We sure appreciate all that you do for these special dogs.  Thank you.  Gale & Charlie Maney
