Franklin Thanks for reaching out to see how we are all adjusting. He was barely at your shelter long enough to get into your system. I think 4 hours between the time you posted on facebook and edited it to say he was adopted. Franklin is great! He was pretty much bonded with me before we even left your shelter and stuck close to my side for about 4 days. (We are a retired couple.) Franklin was supposed to have problems with men but because my quiet, gentle giant of a husband was the one that fed him, walked him, played fetch and handed out the treats, Franklin now thinks he's the greatest guy ever! Our other dog is very happy to have a friend. We have a few small issues that we will work on over time. Now that he feels more secure, he's starting to be a little pushy and demanding. Where did that scared guy go? LOL For instance, he started getting a little grabby with food but is learning now to sit politely when waiting for his treat or dinner so he's smart and a quick learner. I think he's a little perplexed to discover he isn't the boss of the entire household as I suspect he used to be. LOL But he's adapting well. We have two cats. The big cat just smacks him in the face if he gets too pushy and Franklin is learning respect. Unfortunately our other cat runs and so of course Frank chases. Not to hurt but just for fun. I've been keeping him on a leash when she wants to leave the safely of her room and walk through the house. He doesn't quite get it yet that she is off limits but we will figure it out. We love him and are very pleased with your organization. We will probably be looking to you for another dog in the future. Roxann Glaim |
