Zoey
Zoey

Hi! I adopted Zoey & Stewie a few weeks ago & everything is going well. I am in touch with their previous owners & send them pictures & updates. Everyone is very happy!

I have added green beans to their meals & reduced the dog food a bit, since Zoey needs to lose some weight. I also give them walks. I have a cat & all parties are slowly adjusting to that. The cat was around my 2 previous dogs. It’ll work out. Zoey & Stewie love to chase each other around in my backyard! They are the sweetest dogs & I just love them

Zulu

Zulu has been doing great! He learned house training rules quickly and has shown that he is able to overcome his fear of men with lots of love! He became best friends with my dad in less than 2 minutes!

I do think he may have contracted kennel cough again, but I’m taking him to the vet to check alongside establishing a regular vet for him before requesting medicine.

Zulu has been so loving, but I fear he may get separation anxiety when the quarantine is over. I’m working on kennel training when I leave the apartment to help.

I also was hoping I could get the photo of my adoption at the rescue center. I didn’t get an email.

Look how handsome he is though!

Zapdos
Zapdos

We named our dog Cooper! We just couldn't call him Zapdos. He is doing pretty good with house breaking. He is a really good boy.

Zeus

Zeus, now Fiver (pronounced like the number five, named after a character in my favorite book, Watership Down), is doing wonderful! He loves all manners of fluffy beds, fuzzy blankets, and chasing after anything that moves. He LOVES playing frisbee outside, getting out those zoomies, and playing fetch with his toys indoors. He's great at bringing them back (without distractions, haha). He loves everyone he meets including people and dogs.

I was warned he is an escape artist, and that has turned out to be true. I've secured the yard (twice), and we are working with a trainer on not running out the door and calmly getting into the car, and not running at people and dogs in public (he just so badly wants to play!!). :) He was having some pretty bad reverse sneezing attacks when I first brought him home. My vet didn't think he had kennel cough, but maybe an upper respiratory infection or allergies, so we put him on antibiotics and antihistamines for a couple weeks and it seems to be helping.

He is learning quickly and already knows his name, sit, down, off, and wait (which we're still working on). He's eating great. He does great in his kennel. His papers said he had separation anxiety, but the trainer and I don't really think he does. He sometimes likes to get into things when he's bored, so we are working on redirecting.

I sent off for a DNA test to see if we can pinpoint his breed mix, and anxiously awaiting results!

All in all I hit the jackpot with Fiver as a rescue. He's an amazing dog. As my first rescue, I didn't know what to expect, especially with the "stigma" surrounding rescue dogs. But after meeting enough people who had rescued and hearing their positive experiences, I'm so glad I chose to get a rescue. I just love him so much!

Attached are a few random photos I've taken of him!

Thanks again!
