Craig

Hi,
We adopted "Craig" on June 4th and he's been the best addition to our family! He's doing great and loves our kids and getting along fine with the cats as well. Thank you for checking in. Here's a picture of him!  🙂

Cesar
Cesar

Hi!
Thanks for following up. JPEG (formerly Cesar) has been a dream come true for us. He's brought nothing but joy into our lives in the handful of days he's been a part of our family. He's cuddly, affectionate, and playful. We are definitely enjoying his sweet little licks. We're still working on housetraining, but it does seem like he's had some before. He's only had two accidents in the house, and those were because we couldn't get him on the leash and out of the house fast enough. He did tell us he needed to go outside, which was great. Other than those two incidents, he's been very good about letting us know when he needs out, and we also take him out every few hours just in case. We did also get him some Belly Bands, and he has only gone in them once. He was a little scared of the leash at first, but also seems to have had some training there too. We've had very little trouble getting him ready to go out. He walks great with us and looks to be enjoying smelling his new neighborhood. He does not try to pull us and direct us where he wants to go, but actually walks by our side or if we are both there, he prefers to walk in between us. He has slept with us in our bed every night since we got him, and has slept through the entire night without incident.
Difficulties we've had, have been honestly, mostly with treats. He does not like any of the treats we've given him, which has made training attempts a little more rough. I think we're at six different kinds now, and he's not a fan of any. We have been using deli turkey as a treat, but don't want to rely so much on sodium heavy foods, so the treat search continues. Do you accept open bags of treats? We would be happy to drop off the ones he does not like, so they don't go to waste. We were warned of potential Kennel Cough, and it does look like he has it. We have scheduled a vet appointment for him on Thursday.
Thank you so much for taking the time in helping us find the perfect fit for our home. Below you'll find a link to an album where we'll continue to post photos of JPEG.

Cooper Trooper
Cooper Trooper

The first few days were pretty rocky…..If anyone came into the house he barked and went after them. I tried some of the ideas you told me about to correct the behavior, and they WORKED! We turned a corner on Monday and things have been getting better each day. Cooper is settling in and he follows me around the house everywhere. Yesterday he even sat on my lap and watched TV with me and let me pet him. I’m so thankful I found him!!!!
