Handsome senior seeking a special family!  Gandalf, aka George is a happy and active 14 year old Labrador Retriever mix who is ready to find his perfect family. He weighs 38.4 pounds and is fully grown. George is quite vigorous for his age and loves walks, meeting new friends of all ages, and tearing apart stuffed animals with the enthusiasm of a puppy. He has done very well with the kids in his foster home. He absolutely loves to snuggle and kiss everyone, even throwing in some love gummy nibbles if he is extra excited. While with us he received a dental cleaning and had the majority of his teeth removed so his kisses only have fresh breath! George is fond of all the dogs in his foster home, both big and small, and is a perfect gentleman with them. In fact, he loves to snuggle his Chihuahua foster sister on his dog bed. Of course, with advanced age comes some difficulties, but George makes the best of it. He will require a special adopter due to some of his current health needs. He is experiencing some increasingly common accidents due to incontinence, both fecal and urine, but when these happen he is always on his way hustling to get out the doggy door. He does wonderfully with the doggy door and has not marked in the house, outside of his accidents. Additionally, he is quite wobbly and can walk like he is a bit “tipsy”. Because he occasionally loses his balance and falls, he cannot walk up stairs and would not do well in a two-story home or apartment. His new family will also need to be able to lift him up off the floor and back on his feet when he loses his balance. He adores other dogs and is most comfortable having a companion or two. George has a playful, happy spirit and would bring much joy to his new family. George is neutered, vet checked, microchipped, and up to date on vaccines.
